Gershow Recycling Corp. President Kevin Gershowitz is seen presenting a check in the amount of $5,000 to the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County in support of “Operation Cookie.” Operation Cookie is the Girl Scouts’ annual campaign to send Girl Scout Cookies to U.S. troops serving overseas. Approximately 30 Girl Scouts were on hand at the Medford Fire Department on Thursday, August 14 as boxes of cookies were loaded for transport to U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, or to those recuperating at VA hospitals.

In making the donation, Mr. Gershowitz said, "I know of no better way to support a local organization, and at the same time, send our brave troops serving overseas a taste of home."
